About George Gilder

George Gilder is the world's foremost technology futurist. His analysis and predictions synthesize politics, economics, science, education, and history to forecast the impact of emerging technologies on markets and on society at large. For the past two decades, Gilder's insights have influenced virtually every segment of the high-technology arena. "Gilder is very stimulating even when I disagree with him," remarked Microsoft founder Bill Gates, "and most of the time I agree with him."

Author of numerous books, including the groundbreaking technology milestones Microcosm (1989), Life After Television (1990), and Telecosm (2002), Gilder is a frequent contributor to Forbes, the Wall Street Journal, the Economist, the Harvard Business Review, and many other publications.

Gilder's international best-seller, Wealth and Poverty (1981) established a landmark explanation of how entrepreneurship provides the most effective solutions to meet the challenges of poverty, and helped to fuel a worldwide expansion of economic growth during the past twenty-five years.

He has collaborated closely with Harvard Business School Professor Clayton Christensen to promote and apply the dynamic effects of innovation, popularizing principles that address the rapidly changing competitive and economic landscapes that are currently presenting a particularly profound effect on the future of education.

A recipient of the White House Award for Entrepreneurial Excellence, George Gilder is also Chairman of Gilder Publishing LLC, and host of the annual Gilder/Forbes Telecosm Conference.
